Frequently Asked Questions

Can a sole trader apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme?

Yes. A sole trader who has a dedicated business address with off-street parking and employees can apply for the WCS. Home-based sole traders (registered address = home address) may qualify for up to £350 per socket under the WCS home-based business provision. Confirm your eligibility with an OZEV-authorised installer before applying.

Do I need company vehicles to qualify?

No. Employee charging at a workplace qualifies for the WCS grant even if the vehicles are personally owned. The chargepoints must be for staff use and not accessible to the general public.
